community within sports. Darrien is the ED&I Liaison for BC
Hockey and is involved in ED&I with Hockey Canada and has
contributed to Hockey Canada’s updated policy on Gender
Diversity and Expression. Dee has played hockey since the

the Trash Pandas.

life, then changed directions in 2024 to follow her passion for
Equity, Diversity and Inclusion work, obtaining her Certificate
in EDI from UBC. She is now a consultant in the field of EDI.
Dee is passionate about trans inclusion in sport, 2SLGTBQIA+
advocacy, and offers professional and leadership speaking
engagements. Dee has recently released a memoir
chronicling her journey to authenticity.
