Advocacy Canada 5×5 Challenge – FAQ’s for Fundraisers
About the Campaign
What is the 5×5 Challenge?
The 5×5 Challenge is a ten-week peer-to-peer fundraising campaign honouring the five-year anniversary of Advocacy Canada. Participants are asked to raise funds to support Advocacy Canada’s programs, advocacy, and growth.
When does the campaign take place?
The campaign will launch July 7, 2026, at an announcement event including media, 5×5 Challenge participants, past and current donors, and organizational partners and sponsors. The Challenge will wrap up on September 14th with a celebration. The event will include media, fundraisers, Advocacy Canada members and supporters, and the local community.
Do I need to attend the events?
While we would love for you to be there, we understand everyone has busy schedules so your attendance at both events is optional.
What will the money raised support?
Funds raised through the campaign will directly support the Okanagan Rainbow Seniors Project, educational and communication programs, as well as the ongoing work of Advocacy Canada, helping ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organization.
Getting Started
How do I register?
Register here. Once registered, you’ll receive a link to set up your personal fundraising page and campaign resources.
Can I participate as a team?
Yes! You can participate individually or create a fundraising team with friends, family, colleagues, or other community members. We just ask that all team members register at the link above so we can communicate with them about campaign progress.
Is there a fundraising minimum?
Participants are encouraged to recruit 5 new donors to give a minimum of $50 each (for a total of $250), however we know people have varying levels of capacity and all money raised is helpful in supporting our cause!
What if I don’t meet the fundraising minimum?
That is no problem. We are grateful for your support in helping raise awareness of our work and spread the message of inclusion with your community. The more people who know about the work we do, the more inclusive community we all live in.
