March Madness, Community, and Connection – The Advocate Newsletter

New newsletter header

As we embrace the energy of March, I’ve been reflecting on whether the term “March Madness” comes from the stir-crazy energy folks feel as the days grow longer, and our longing for connection and community intensifies. As an extrovert, I thrive on those connections, and working with the Trans Day Of Visibility (TDOV) committee to prepare for Kelowna’s 3rd Annual TDOV event has been nothing short of inspiring. It’s incredible to witness our local community come together to stand in solidarity with our 2SLGBTQIA+ family to celebrate Trans Day of Visibility.

We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing volunteers. When the call for TDOV volunteers went out, the overwhelming outpouring of support was truly uplifting and made my day. In fact, it reinforced just how powerful and committed our community is to elevating and celebrating trans folks. Events without volunteers are like unicorns without rainbows and wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of each and every one of you.

This month’s newsletter is packed with exciting updates—from volunteer opportunities to ticket information for Trans Day of Visibility, plus a link to the latest edition of IN Magazine. Keep reading  for all the latest happenings at Advocacy Canada.

Until next time,

Amber

Director of Communications
