Giles (he/him) is a social worker originally from Treaty One Territory in Manitoba, with deep roots in community, justice, and relational accountability. Grounded in a lifelong commitment to equity, he approaches both his personal and professional life through the lens of allyship—striving not just to stand beside, but to actively uplift and advocate for those whose voices have been historically marginalized.
With a focus on social justice, Giles’ work centers culturally safe, trauma-informed, and person-centred practices. His approach integrates anti-oppressive frameworks and is guided by the belief that meaningful change begins with humility, listening, and action. Whether supporting clients, collaborating with communities, or working alongside Indigenous Nations, Giles ensures that respect, reciprocity, and care are at the forefront of every relationship.
As someone who identifies as an ally to the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, Giles brings a grounded, systems-aware perspective to board governance. His lived experience, professional training, and deep commitment to justice uniquely position him to contribute to inclusive, strategic decision-making and advocacy.
He is honoured to contribute to the mission of advancing rights, representation, and belonging for 2SLGBTQIA+ people, and is especially passionate about fostering safer, braver spaces where all identities are affirmed and celebrated.
