Mikayla Jones

SHE/HER

DIRECTOR OF VOLUNTEER ENGAGEMENT

Mikayla (she/her) is a member of and loud advocate for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. She believes that being an effective ally means acting from a place of love and empathy but knowing when to speak out and stand firm.

Being one of the lucky ones to call Kelowna both her home and hometown, Mikayla has seen this small town grow to be the vibrant and diverse community it is today. Fostering further diversity and inclusivity within Kelowna is a top priority for her.

Mikayla comes from a background in theatre and the wine industry, where she leveraged her positions to promote change and give back to the community through fundraisers, advocacy campaigns, and a compassionate management style. After six years in the wine industry, she made the decision to go back to school to achieve a bachelor’s degree in history, with the end goal of becoming a teacher. She hopes that the work we do now and, in the future, will create brighter and more inclusive futures for all!
